Choosing a cleaning company: what to look for
A guide for businesses and owners' associations: the work programme, the price build-up, checks and communication, and the contract terms.
Start with the work programme. A serious quote for office or commercial cleaning records per area what happens and how often: workstations, sanitary rooms, pantry, floors, waste and entrance. With that in writing you compare providers on substance — two quotes with the same final amount can differ considerably in delivered hours.
Then look at the price build-up. Business rates are quoted excluding VAT; check whether products, equipment and replenishment of sanitary supplies are included and whether working outside office hours carries a surcharge. Set the amounts against the price index: if a quote sits far below the band, ask where the hours come from — too few hours show up in the building within a month.
Third point: checks and communication. Ask how the company safeguards quality (a fixed point of contact, periodic inspection rounds, a logbook or reports) and how quickly things are corrected when something goes wrong. For commercial premises with specific requirements — hygiene in a practice, dust control in a workshop — that approach should be reflected in the programme.
Finish with the contract terms: start date, trial period, notice period and any indexation. We already verify Chamber of Commerce registration and business liability insurance before a company receives requests — the rest of the choice is yours, and with up to 3 quotes side by side it is a choice you can make well.
